Title: Locost racing Post by Mmonster on Dec 21st, 2004, 8:30pm Hello, Anyone racing with locost? Did you build the chassis yourself or bought it ready? Any experience of costs/raceday? How many races Yokohama tyres will last, or otherway how many racedays they are still fast enough to race? Thanks in advance, Mmonster |

Title: Re: Locost racing Post by Mmonster on Dec 22nd, 2004, 6:17pm Hi again, I mean these little things: http://www.locostcars.co.uk/ These are quite common in England? Right? .. no? Mmonster |

Title: Re: Locost racing Post by PiercedEllie on Dec 22nd, 2004, 6:24pm Hi Mmonster, I don't think these are common, neither me nor Barry (waders) had ever heard of this before. I would not think there are enought mad people to brave the British weather in one of those! ;D Where did you find their website? Ellie ;D |

Title: Re: Locost racing Post by Mmonster on Dec 22nd, 2004, 6:47pm Hi Pierced Ellie Hmm.. What you mean īmad people enough...?ī i dont think you have nothing wrong about weather... hmmm.. well, maybe some rain time to time, but.. ::) I used a google and founded another web page: http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/ thatīs interesting. Found also: http://www.locost-racing.co.uk, but that dosent open.. ??? Our local motorsports institute planning to start locost league for "sunday racers". I had been racing in adult class karts quite long time now, and this looks interesting. Itīs not so mutch expensive that a kart. Another choise will be legends-class, but thats too expensive for just a hobby. http://www.legends-cars.com Mmonster |

Title: Re: Locost racing Post by Badboytunes on Dec 22nd, 2004, 7:06pm LoCost is a kit car that is based upon Colin Chapmans Lotus 7. Caterham bought the rights but that hasnt stopped the kit being copied. My father in law has the book "Build yourself a Kit car for Ģ250" and this uses the locost kit. Its an old book where you build the chassis yourself. HTH Cheers Nick |

Title: Re: Locost racing Post by PiercedEllie on Dec 22nd, 2004, 7:38pm Hi, I guess you will be having a white Christmas then. The weather forcast here is for snow too, but hopefully not tomorrow while I'm at work as no one in this country can drive in the snow, and it was a nightmare getting home when it snowed last year at ten to five in the evening, just in time for the rush hour. I like the snow, our dogs have a great time in it too. Have a good Christmas.http://tinypic.com/yknr7 and good luck with the racing. ;D |

Title: Re: Locost racing Post by Mmonster on Dec 23rd, 2004, 8:55am PiercedEllie, yes, we going to have white xmas.. maybe. Now itīs raining and everything is covered by ice. :-/ They promiced more snow for evening so there is hope. I like snow too, but only when itīs coulder that -5C, so itīs not so wet. Itīs not easy here too, even we are used to drive on snow and have wintertyres on cars it can be a nightmare. Merry xmas too and thanks! ;D I have that "Build yourself a Kit car for Ģ250" book as well now. I also found some used cars for sale quite near of me, so i will go to check them too. I am still looking only "sunday racer" class. Legends are great, but in that category where you need some sponsors to keep things on move. On the moment i used to join 3 different local kart leagues with 3 different class of engines. Even the moust powerfull one with high end sticky tyres, it has not been too expencive to go around with own money. :) Mmonster |
