Dave,

by the looks I would say it is an aftermarket sunroof fitted to a Ghia model which never had one as standard!

The colour is a factory colour of "Dark Maroon" and was one of 3 non metallic colours available in 1998. The other 2 being white and belladonna (a sort of purple) As for the spoiler, it isn't a factory one however a few people on here have sucessfully found a matching spoiler for their cars

Its built 2/98 and the colour is listed as 'dark maroon' listed as an 'L' series car with a/c  Lot of miles for the money IMHO.  Looks as though there is some over spray on the offside Fog light..... New bumper?

It's up to Michael really but I feel I ought to come to his defence here .. I'm sure he won't mind ... Michael sent the badge details to me actually .. to investigate stainless steel options and I have a " plastics " man who is looking at the project .. Michael considers us to have the logistics for the project and distribution but I was concerned about the outlay < which I think he wanted us to finance>..as projects of this nature have not always been the most successful .. I did not give an answer as to whether we would go forward or not until I actually eyeballed ..and was happy with ..a completed badge..so if his " doubters " wish to offer finance and their time then I am sure he <and presumably "expectant members"> ..will most appreciate it ... PM Michael if you wish to offer your services .. ... regards.. STN

ps. Michael made me aware of the financial requirement ..but I did not get as far as enquiring how many members actually committed to orders ... Michael may well be trying other sources for all i know ...

no chance marra......I've burned my fingers with those dammed calendars from a certain chap......

my advice, for what's it's worth is to hand it back to Michael alias Captain, aka 1st Lord or Vice Admiral or risk losing credabilty with suppliers when you have to back out at last moment due to nil finance up front ..... or of course...finance it !!  not a good idea.....plus I do not think Michael will be buying any to put on the front of his Vectra !! I could be wrong

as I said .. I haven't at any time taken it FROM Michael .. but in fairness I felt I had to intervene regarding peoples " doubting " comments ... thats all .. he had done what he was saying he had done .. STN

well thats cleared that up (walter mitty ;)).....

why has it taken this long to find out... ???,never even found out if ford had given permission to use the logo,so what about these stickers,do we have permission to use these  ???,looks like the badge will not be going ahead after all,and like bertie says about parting with the cash, think we have been there before, but as long as i know, just wanted to know if it was still going ahead, but looks like i have found the answer.....

I have no idea about the permission but as I understood
it the badge had been " changed " to get round the Ford issue ?.. I'm also not sure why people don't ask Michael direct about it ..or have you ? ..it's only my view but perhaps he feels that if you want to know something then you should ask directly rather than make " comments " on the forum .. I would feel like that anyway .. in fact this post perhaps should be taken private ..hmmm .. lastly I see no reason at all why the badges should never get sorted because of the first mention of money .. had I gone forward with it then I would certainly have asked anyone ordering to pay up front and I think they would have expected to < after seeing the final pattern of course >.. there are plenty of members here with the where with all to sort it or help or bring it to fruition .. or maybe Michael still is for all I know ?? ..it's quite a simple project for those who have time on their hands ..

1. laise with Michael
2. pick someone that all members trust
ie: admin
3. throw what ? .. a tenner each in ?

.. or even cover the costs first and then donate an amount to running the site ........

regards.......... STN

Well, if any DO get made, I'll join the queue.
Mind you, would love both my badges to have a skull and crossbones, that'll scare the rabbits who keep headbutting my front bumper.  8)

I can categorically state that FORD (Europe) have NOT given their permission to use the Ford logo in any merchandise other than their own.

They have given this site the permissions to use the copyrighted material which is published, but like any major multi national they are very protective of its material.

So in answer to the questions.  NO, permission was never given and never will be . There is no association to any other badge or logo or such, that may have been produced or may be produced with any of the ford copyrighted designs on it , by any members of this or other forums. The mere fact of changing the design 'slightly' will negate the copyright issue is one that is very questionable, and we as Forum administrators are not prepared to test in the courts, and as such we will not allow promotion of such material on this forum.

Ford have in the past exercised their right to protect their merchandise and logos with legal action which has been well documented .
