I was reading a news story on a Indian Web site that Ford Europe and Mahindra Motors have done a deal to manufacture a Taxi for the Asian market only based on the Scorpio. ( this happens quite a lot in India I believe ). The floorpan and bodywork will be exactly the same as the Scorp but the engine and gearbox will be of Mahindra design, and it will be very basic with no electric gizmos and toys.( shame !) There will be two variants, the Polo with a Diesel engine and the Flair with a 2ltr. petrol.

So you know where to go for a new boot lid !

I read the same article.

Looks like they are not fitting leather seats however due to the sacred nature of the Cow in India - so if you want a new set of seats you'll have to make do with cloth I'm afraid.

Be interesting to see if the self dipping mirror is fitted and if it survives their Roasting Heat.

isnt it just the Scorpio name? I looked ar one and it was a little 4 wheel drive type thing
