Title: Re: Website Designing Post by Aardvark on Apr 5th, 2005, 9:20pm Hi, I am a self-taught Frontpage user and have produced my own site - www.galaxyairportcars.co.uk I was advised to use tables and cells for simplicity and ease of use. Also, I was advised to keep it simple but informative with no garish animations or sounds and that the current trend is for light pastel colours for backgrounds etc. Others better knowledgable will advise further, but this is my 2p worth! Hope this helps. Aard |

Title: Re: Website Designing Post by Nick_H on Apr 5th, 2005, 10:43pm Fitzy If you want the simplest (IMHO) way of building an on-line shop, get a copy of Actinic Catalog from www.actinic.co.uk. Costs about £350 if memory serves... Makes it all very easy - drawback is that it's not as flexible as some more expensive store developing software... N_H :) |

Title: Re: Website Designing Post by admin on Apr 6th, 2005, 4:45am Of course, I design websites for a living :) Some examples are www.dspot.com www.tonymarques.com and of course www.fordscorpio.co.uk (that's a frontpage site) Best advice is to buy a ready built frontpage template and work with that - search the web for them as there are thousands available. Custom web sites start at around £400 plus the cost of the shopping cart that you choose - a lot of small stores start off with a PayPal store as it's cheaper to setup but you pay more %age on sales. Good luck Steve |
