Title: For Those Who Are Interested -American Land Barges Post by Danny_R on Sep 20th, 2005, 2:20pm In England I could only dream about owning a thundering V8 but now I got 2 ;D My first is a 1997 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor edition. This has a high output 4.6 Liter V8 and goes like a rocket. Although the police edition is basic inside, everything is heavy duty. Body on Frame, Rear Wheel Drive, V8 power, Police suspension, Sway Bars, 160 Amp Alternator, Police Intake Manifold, Anti-burst Coolant Hoses, Backup Engine Cooling. On the inside: Stab Proof Seats (1.5inch steel plates in front seat backs), rubber floor instead of carpet, Drivers side spotlight, Certified Calibration Speedo, Police center console with radio and laptop mounts. The trunk is so big you could throw 5 bodies in and still have tones of room left. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y33/Danny_R/Front.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y33/Danny_R/back.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y33/Danny_R/interior.jpg My latest purchase is a 1988 Mercury (Ford Brand) Grand Marquis. It has a 5.0 Liter Electronic Fuel Injected V8. I never used to be keen on the box bodied American cars but this is a truly awesome car to drive. It has the full length bench seat in the front and will seat 6 adults quite easily. It has power everything. Also comes complete with the unique pre 1990 American suspension that makes you feel like your floating. Best part of all is I only paid 200 dollars for this beast from an auction! that's about 110 pounds!!! And there's not a thing wrong with it. Here's some pics. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y33/Danny_R/front1.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y33/Danny_R/Front2.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y33/Danny_R/interior1.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y33/Danny_R/interior2.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y33/Danny_R/engine1.jpg Well that's enough of me :D Kind Regards Danny_R P.S. The Scorp will be on its way over soon!!! |

Title: Re: For Those Who Are Interested -American Land Ba Post by Danny_R on Sep 21st, 2005, 2:59pm Baz, The Police consoles are full sized consoles that sit in-between the front seats. At the end nearest the dash it has a fully adjustable platform which the laptop sits on. Most cops have these type consoles with the integrated laptop mounts. They sell new for around $250 and used for about $50. Only problem on the scorp is space! since the handbrake and the shifter are on the floor it would be impossible for you to remove the scorp console and retrofit the police one. Most police cruisers out here have column shift and a 3rd pedal in the foot well for the handbrake. The Only way I think you could do it is to buy a universal laptop mount that bolts to the transmission tunnel and would hold the laptop above the center console. I'll post some pics up of my console in a bit and see if I can find a website with these universal laptop mounts for ya. Take care mate Danny_R |
