Title: Pretty fireworks
Post by wayne on Oct 23rd, 2005, 1:57am
Well it's that time again, no not 2a.m (which it is). I mean the 3wks before and after Nov 5th when we have to endure the delights of the various incendiaries available. The local morons have been letting off what for all the world sounded like shotgun blasts, except for the pretty sparkles in the sky. Of course the dog didn't know that, he continued to tremble in his basket, and our granddaughter couldn't grasp the gunpowder plot, she carried on screaming in her cot.  When will this stupid festival ever be done away with? !!!!

quite like bonfire night myself, however i do mean bonfire night its self,we have the same trouble here wayne,as soon as they are in the shops i think country wide people (mainly youngsters i guess ???),spend all there money on them and let the loudest ones off at some ghastly hour of the morning once again frightning the life out of our dog as well,i suppose the same question comes up each year about this, should there only be displays  ???,dont really think it shoud go that far,but i really do wish certain people would really recongnize the dangers they do face with fireworks in general..

We take our little girl to a firework display in the towns fairfield and thats the only one we go to .

I think they should only have firework displays on the night and make to we it , i feel sorry for the animals and the old people . And you should not be allowed to let fireworks off after 11pm .

I seem to recall a law introduced banning fireworks after a certain time,, of course it's unenforceable. Perhaps that's why it's never been mentioned again.
Fireworks should be sold to licenced displayers only,, not in every corner shop. Those with children (or without for that matter) can go to the numerous organised displays available ON THE NIGHT.  One should also consider the extra drain on resources of the emergency services every year.

Why do the fireworks sold in corner shops have to bang or scream - there is no need!

I love fireworks, but respect and understand the danger of them. Nov 5 is the time to enjoy them - and I have lots of fun memories of bonfires and fireworks!

Our animals were never as upset then as they weren't subjected to this barrage for weeks on end!

Just because a minority abuse a privilege everyone has to suffer - again! >:(

Just my view anyway :-/
