Title: How Cold ! Post by Octavian_P on Jan 23rd, 2006, 12:53pm Hi ! Just wandering how cold is in your regioun and if your scorp still starts. I'll start first, with a maximum temperature of -16 put the key in contact, say a little pray, turned the key, the starter could barley rotate the engine, all the lights on the dashboard went almoust off......i said .....the blasted battery gave up....i'll have to walk to work. In this time i was still keeping the starter on....after a 5-6 seconds when it almoust died.....the engine fired..... ;D (happy happy joy joy). Got the cold wheater beep (red snow flake) temp was showing -16. The rev went to 1600 rpm....It iddled so for about a minute and slowly decreased to ~1200 rpm. Fuel compsumption was about 3.5 liters/hour :o. The strange thing was that the engine had a rattle.....and was shakeing (ritmically) :P (what could it be from ..???) Now i only hope that the car will start later when i'll want to get home....and the temperature will drop to -20 :-X.....and the wind is blowing hard ..... Cheers |

The weather forecast this evening is for -4 or -5 out in the country and -1 or -2 in towns, we should be ok, but if any body has a suspect battery it will probably make itself felt in the next few days. Maybe some folks got a bit of snow earlier on but up here in Northern Highlands its averaging +10 at the moment. Suffice to say that the ski areas up here have no snow at all and theres only 9wks of the ski season left. It was in the paper lat last week that the winds would blow from Russia and it would be drasticly cold wednesday onwards. According to the weather wbesite now wednesday onwards is going to be sunny and +8 here in Inverness. +13 on saturday. I think they say its going to be a bit of everything just to cover all eventualities when really they dont have a bloody clue >:( |

Title: Re: How Cold ! Post by Octavian_P on Feb 5th, 2006, 8:12pm Hello ! Gues what, after a few warm days ( up to almoust 10 degrees) now it is snowing, and it's windy, -8 C. Bad thing is that now that i have changed the "work-place" i'm not cruising to work because of the traffic so i'm using the tram. With the car i'll do about 30 minutes, with the "alternative" transporation will do about 10 minutes. Another bad thing is that the new company i work at doesn't let the employees to use the parking >:( and there is no parking next to for a 3 mile radius :P. |

Just spent the last 20minuts digging out the scorp, to go to the store.... :-/ It was almost gone under the snow.... :o (And the roads aint cleard eather, but the scorp made it sideways, as always... ;D Ive got the lowest car it seems, im shuffeling all the snow, even thoug it was many other tyremarks in the snow... :) Edit: Pic. taken the next dag, not that mutch on the car today.. http://www.torejorgen.com/scorpio/scorp_siluett.jpg |
