went to k....k fit tyre and exhaust fitters . asked if i could hve a check on the cats they said yes thats fine , had 30 min wait.
they put the car on the rising arm , (so i thought this is my chance to hve a gd look under car ) so out i went . he noticed a slight blow a lose joint nr frount but apart from that it looked fine he said to me, i said wot are the cats like as i hear a slight rattle on choke he walked to the back of the car he go there fine nothing wrong with them. me a bit confused as he was hitting the 2 silver silencer boxers at the back of car :o i said to him but ant the cats at the frount like every other car ? ho no not on a 24v cosworth! and he almost got me to belive i was wrong untill i checked it out on the scorpio site,lol i use to like k....k fit but i dont think i would now trust them to work on our car now :( do any one know of any other place like this but hve a bit more knowledge on scorpio?

Unless theres actual physical damage to the cats which they arent going to see very well from under the car anyway, then the only real check is an emissions test or an OBD scan

I stopped going to Kwik Fit when i found out they pay their guys comission on what they sell!!

no damage look wise , just the weird rattle sound like it s on the drivers side , think she will be a money pit for a lil while , had her just over a week and the list is starting to build up , think it may be best to take her in for a full ecg check lol so ill know all then lol just got to be brave :)

Might be just a loose heat shield or something simple.

Although I'm wondering if you hear the rattle on start up and its actually the timing chains?

there is a slight timing chain rattle , but seem not to be there when i park slightly down hill , the heat shield would that be the thing that sit under the radiator and look like a tray ? wot is handy as its catching the water from my radator lol , now saw some pic on here where some one hve put spot lights on there grill @ lol now looked for fmd on google .co.uk and all i got up was foot and mouth des lol any more clues please ?

Ford MotorCompany Dealerships is FMDs generally they don't seem to know much about our cars, but there are exceptions

thanks for that geof, yes i agree thats wot im learning been rining round for a rad busseys 321. plus vat :o lol rang wilcos , he was looking on his computer said he hve one i stock at on of the branches £125, said yes thats fine, he said ill ring u back in a mo when i hve traced it , he rang back and said , we cant find it now and the price i said was the old price , and we cant even get them any more sorry bye , i thought oh ok lol, found some one that core them for £127 , any idears on that ?

hi highlander. we hve now noticed the the frount head light is very lose around the bottom, would u know how to get at the bit we cant see to tighten it up do u know if they are sprung loaded or any thing ? i think its lose enough to be the rattle i keep hearing ?

The headlight may be the rattle??
Didnt you hear it when the engine was started?

amm not to day ill hve to do that tomorrow hubby was giving her a wax and polish but ill hve a listen tomorrow also u are right about the heat sheild being lose ;) thanks u are great help :D

So the heat shield was the rattle??
im having problems keeping track :)
