Well it's been 3 :o days since I last smoked ;D

No patches, no gum, just will power. I'm actually ok too. Not crabit, not bit anyone's head off.

There are of course, two very good reasons for me quiting, one, of course, it means I can spend more on the Scorpio, and secondly........

means I can spend more on our new child (second), due next Tuesday. Hmmmmmm, wonder which is going to be the more expensive ::) ;D ;D ;D

I'll keep you updated!

gave up tobacco nearly 10 years ago now,put on 3 stone,so then had to go on a diet as well.... :o :o,
havn't touched tobacco since,you can do it locky,all the best....

Good man, gave up 5 years ago, think the worst part was worrying about how bad it was going to get, the reality was much easier!

Got to agree, it was a lot easier than I expected but like craig, I've put on 2.5 stone and the days of a 30ins waist are long gone. In fact , having a waist at all would be advantageous as my hips have disappeared there's nowt to hold my jeans up !

Gave up 2 and a half years ago. Keep it up locky.....think how nice and fresh you will smell to your new baby. That's what gave me the incentive, when my Connor was only 2 1/2 he told me I didn't smell nice after I had been for a fag. Gave up within two weeks of that!!

Now I can smell a smoker a mile away. Plus the wife and my 19 year old both smokle so it wsn't easy for me and despite my lythe figure I did put weight on too!

im gonna have to give up very very soon, as of the 26th i wont be allowed to smoke in my own scorpio.. >:( even if i take the roofsign off, and taxi plate off the back, its still classed as a work vehicle, as registered with the council....

so my days are numbered, cant even have a fag wi ma pint either... :'(

A good wy to really stop yourself going back is to empty the contents of an ashtray into a small clear coke bottle. half fill it with water and pop the lid on.

Shake it up and mix it well.

Whenever you want a cigarette, remove the lid and have a smell of the contents.

Makes you realise how disgusting it smells and you soon pop the lid on the cravings go instantly.

Proud of you mate... I gave up the weed in '78 when I left the Army. 9 1/2 stone at the time.... 15 1/2 stone now. Diet? what diet? bring on more whisky woman and load up that pasta!!

Keep it up, it gets easier

Best of luck mate,
Ive tried and failed twice in the last year.
My down falls were alcohol and another subject that I dont whant to bore you with basically its medical.
Although I failed on my week will power If I were you i would get some gum or lozenges just in case you get the urge then you can chew or suck a lozenge instead of lightin up.

Thanks for the support! I'm still doing well, still not tempted. Can't stop eating though, seem to have got my appetite back.

Maybe i'll put on some weight, but that wouldn't be a bad thing really, i'm currently 9 Stone, and have a 28 inch waist. lol

Same here Locky, went from 9 stone 29 inch waist to 11.5 stone 34 inch waist. Feel a heck of a lot better for having a bit more weight, can go outside when it is windy without having to be tied down now! ;)

Me too, a 6ft 11 stone weakling since I was 16, now a bit more beefy
at 14st I am not ashamed to wear shorts or short sleeved shirts.

I could never put have put on that amount of weight and still smoked. So, as well as feeling more healthy , smelling better , being wealthier, it also has hidden benefits for self esteem.
