Hi Bootiful-Scorpios, any person that can treat an animal like that deserves the same in return... >:(
We(wife and myself)have 2 rescue dogs, Ben was a cruelty case, his owner tipped the kennel on top of him when he barked, he had never been indoors for the first 8 months of his life and did not know what STAIRS were, he does not like the dark very much even now and we have had him for nearly three years now.
Bramble was from a puppy farm and we are his fourth owners, the last owners got rid of him because he used to toilet in the house, their idea of a walk was a drag along the pavement and back by the kids for 5 mins....both are Terriers,Ben is a Westie/Jack Russell cross and Bramble is a Sporting Lucas Terrier. Both are spoiled and get a clean bill of health every year at their medicals...it's only what they deserve...unlike the cruel B******* that mistreat them >:( >:( >:(

at least ur lil dogs are lucky to hve found you and ur wife , when a dog hve been mistreated i belive they will always hve little scared points in there life the never totaly get over it, my dog is a staff x englishbull and i rescued him at only 5weeks ! still had to bottle feed him as he was only starting to be weaned on food , but the poor lil chap had to miss out playing with his family so he lost out in the pup play stuff like they do , but if i had not hve took him when i did he prob would not hve lasted much longer,he spent the first 5 weeks of his life in a dark shed mums milk had dried up as she wont getting feed!! hes a big strong lad now and ive had him 6yrs.

Yeah, they need stringing up by the testicles for treating the dogs like that.  >:(

Our pup had a bad start but he's doing fine with us.
We took him on at 5 months.
He'll be a year old in a few weeks.   :)

I have to agree that anyone who could harm an animal must be treated as though they were capable of doing the same to a human....

Personally I can't stand dogs, I like cats, I like the freedom to open the door and throw them out and not have to take them for walks in the rain and snow or worry about kennels when I go to France

Just an opinion of course! ;D

It is a she cat. We have two ginger females that we got as kittens. They were abandoned in a bag and found by a young lad who took them to the local cat sanctuary. We have had them for 11 years!! One still thinks she is a kitten and runs everywhere and plays like mad. The other (who is her fluffy sister, and is hiding in the bush out of sight of the magpies) sleeps and eats and sleeps and is afraid of everything except me and the wife. When my little lad walks in the room she bolts!

We have a three year old black Labrador called Roxy. She is a pedigree & was bought from a reputable breeder at 12 weeks.
A few years back now, my Mum wanted a cat (she was feeling lonely after me & my brother moved out), but she didn't want a kitten. So I took her up the cat sanctuary in Chelmsford to see if there were any suitable cats that took her eye. She picked the cat that was all over her. We had to wait a week until they checked my Mum out (make sure she didn't own a chinese take-away etc), & that was it....new cat in house.

The very upsetting thing about this whole episode was that even though we had rescued one cat & given it a good life, there were still loads of cats left waiting to be re-homed, & there was a large cage full of ferile cats that could never be re-homed.
It makes you wonder, even though they tell you these animals will be happy until they die....how long is it before they die?

P.S. I'm allergic to cats (didn't know this 'till above happened). Can only see my Mum as long as the cat isn't in the room, otherwise my eyes stream & my breathing is laboured (although the latter could be due to smoking).

totally agree.dogs give so much in return,it really is deplorable how anyone can hurt them, and the bond you build up,not too much else comes close, hre are our 2 little babies, campbell is 4 and on the left,we have had him for nearly 2 years now,and scrappie is 6 (on the right),we have had her for 3 months, both came from private rescue (owners couldn't cope basically),and we consider ourselves exceptionally lucky to have them, and i have to agree with paul comments on cruelty... >:(

I don't have any pets.  I'm not much of an animal fan anyway (though I wouldn't hurt them) but I simply wouldn't be able to give them the attention and care they deserve - bit like my cars really...

I like all animals, in their place, but some folk treat them as humans, I'm afraid  I wouldn't  even  look  at a second hand   car   that  had  been   used   as  a  transporter  for  dogs.

With the  ragged upholstery  covered in  hair, saliva  and worse,    that awful    "wet dog"    stench,   a real turn off.  :-[

If you want to do some real  good  re  animal welfare,    try not to visit    countries  where   the   ill  treatment  of   animals  is  rife,   like   Spain, Tunisia, Morrocco,  Egypt, Turkey, Etc.
