Title: Arsenal Post by jonnycab on May 18th, 2006, 12:47am The ref was a Barcelona fan. Don't you think that continental teams are always favoured by the ref. It seemed so one sided. The linesman was photographed wearing a Barcelona shirt a week ago & being as Barcelona are richer than Arsenal then the ref was probably bought as well... i.e. Henry yellow carded when he was fouled!!!!! FIFA should be ashamed.... they have more corruption & spin than Tony Blair's government!!!! |

Title: Re: Arsenal Post by jonnycab on May 18th, 2006, 3:01am No....not really...I suppose it was a fair game...apart from the ref sending off Yens Lehman & not sending off half the Barcelona team for typical continental "break your opponents leg when the ref ain't looking" style football!!!! >:( |

Unfortunately lehman had to go, shame the ref didn't use his noggin and let the goal stand, leaving both teams with 11 men. The opposite was applied in the liverpool chelsea game last year when cech should've walked, but the ref allowed garcia's goal to stand instead, i personally thought he'd bottled sending cech off, hence giving the goal. Bad luck to arsenal though, held out until 15 mins left. Paul |

Title: Re: Arsenal Post by big_neil on May 18th, 2006, 3:40pm it,s typical of the modern football game .Potentially an absorbing game spoiled by awful refereeing decisions. The last world cup was the same.Mark my words this forthcoming world cup will be exactly the same, spoiled by crap refereeing!!!!!! |

Title: Re: Arsenal Post by mr._floppy on May 18th, 2006, 6:00pm < crap refereeing > How about crap players ? if the players didn't cheat, whinge, moan, cheat, feign injury, cheat ( did I say that before ?) and , oh yes , cheat, the game would hardly need any refereeing at all :-/ |

Title: Re: Arsenal Post by Baz on May 18th, 2006, 7:16pm Who was that diving champion that got ARSEnal the free kick that Cambell scored from? That was true 10 out of 10 for style and he should now be banned for deliberate cheating....... (did I mention I was a Man United fan?? ;D) |

Title: Re: Arsenal Post by jonnycab on May 19th, 2006, 12:51pm I see the ref has now admitted that maybe he should have let Barcelona play the advantage & not sent off Lehman.....Bit late now though. |

Title: Re: Arsenal Post by Baz on May 19th, 2006, 1:23pm But lehman denied a goal scoring opportunity regardless of wether they scored and according to a fifa guy today, the ref would have been in his rights to send off Lehman AND still play the advantage and allow the goal! |
