Title: For Those Interested 8.5 liter Cadillac
Post by Danny_R on May 19th, 2006, 12:39pm
Just seen this video of this old caddy at the race track. In it's day this land barge came standard with an 8.5 liter v8. Watch the amount of torque toward the end of the video. Now that's what I call American Muscle.

I'll bet the engine drinks fuel faster than you can put it in the tank!  }{

I had a black convertible up until recently which was being stored in California ready for restoration.  Unfortunately I had to let it go as I have no idea when I will be back in the USA again and the friend who was storing needed the space.

They actually came with a 500 cubic inch engine as standard which was not only the biggest V8 engine GM had ever built but since then has also been recognised as being the strongest engine they ever built too due to the casting process and metal mix.

Drag racing guys will pay good money for a 500 cubic inch engine but the only problem is that this engine costs alot more to race tune than your regular GM, Ford or MOPAR big block.

Loved the video clip though ;)
