Post by Kjetil S on May 26th, 2006, 3:05pm
Has anyone experienced this when trying to sell something on ebay?

Makes great reading though  ;D

I get it all the time, that's why I put a line on my T&C page (which of course, nobody bothers to read) that if their question has been answered in the T&Cs or item description then I won't bother to answer it.

In fact, I'm tempted to set up a telephone number for queries - charge at £1.50/min!

I'm sorry but the very kind gent (Donald) who offered me a weekend with his wife (and him it would appear) I have a special message for you. The pictures you sent me of your wife did not, in all honesty help.

I advertised a friends Volvo 940 last week.  We put it at £50 start, no reserve, no tax or MOT, for spares or possible repair.  Here's what somebody emailed me:

"Hi,

1. If I bid higher,it MUST BE that when I pick up vehicle, it must pass MOT same day at pre-booked (by me)MOT centre in your area.

2. It must START EVERYTIME.

3. It must not only DRIVE but drive to LONDON that same day. Not only that but my quite heavily PREGNANT wife will be with me.

4. I dont mind paying MOT, Tax, Service and perhaps blown rear exhaust box, but I do NOT want to take other paople's troubles on unnessesarily.

5. Please let me know quickly as I do not mind raising bid.

6. Thanks in advance, All the best."

Now what part of 'spares or repair' don't they understand?  Incidentally he put a max bid of £65 - doesn't want much eh!?  :-/

That auction was the funnyest one I have ever seen on ebay. My naubor even came across to see what I was howling at. }{
