Got the chop from work this week, still I should get just enough redundancy to buy myself a new motorbike for the summer ;D

Don't worry mate, when I got made redundent I thought sh*t but it has been one of the best things that have ever happened to me. Gave me time to do what I wanted to do for a whole year ;)

Bad luck mate. I lost my job at the start of the year and still trying to get one that will keep me in the life that I became acustomed to. Never nice but I had loads of time to play battlefield 2, work on the scorp and any number of chilled out stuff. Well until the cash ran out....
BTW, its nuts down here, not much fun being a Scot and having all the southern jessies say things like; 'well, I suppose you'll be supporting Germany then?!?!' ::)

Sorry to hear the bad news Highlander its not nice thing to happen :'( I should know after 3 times, but still, as the others have said sometimes it can be a blessing in disguise.

Anyhow just think now of all that extra advice you have time now to offer us all.... LOL }{

It's demoralising, but agency work will give you some income (probably minimum wage or a little over) - but at least it helps pay the bills.

Alternatively, whilst you're claiming JSA you can usually get free places on college courses so you could take advantage of that to learn new skills or fomalise ones you've already got...

Sorry to hear your news, but don't despair!!

I was made redundant last year by a gutless tosser who actually rang me on my day off to tell me, even though he'd smiled at me and said see you tomorrow the day before!! I went back to pick up my kit, and he was nowhere to be seen (Cowardly Slimeball)!!...Maybe as well, as I would probably have got myself into a lot of bother........... ;)

That was a year ago. Take Sector 9's advice. Agency work is never that brilliant, but I've been doing it since last June, and I've made some really good mates, and it's kept the wolf from the door as far as bills are concerned.

I have JUST left..........like today!! :D because i have been looking and looking for a whole year for another 'proper' job, and I got one starting in 10 days.

Make yourself this target. EVERY week, look in your local jobs, and NEVER give up. I'm 59, and I honestly thought I'd never work again. How wrong I was!!

Good luck............You WILL get something.

It's a rotten feeling, i know, but you'll be OK. :)
