Seemingly each day we read on here of the demise of yet another Scorpio for one reason or another.

Does anyone know how many of each model were made over the production period?

As it happens during recent contact with DVLA I asked them how many were taxable on UK roads - they couldn't help but have given me an address to write too!

Don't hold your beath though! ;D

Will report back if lucky!

Well in romania, there are just a few.... it's a miracle when i see another, these cars are more rare than santaklauss ;D

Well this site gives the European production run as just under 100 000, with no break down of individual model figures.

Also know of two more saloons in the area plus a few estates (a bit more difficult to track as the rear is almost identical to the older granny and the mondeo ;)).

I've seen at least five going back and forth across Nottingham - I know where three of them live but I'm certainly not unique in the area for Scorpio ownership...

I've got one & I used to have another one, & as far as I know it's still on the road, due to the fact that I keep getting speeding tickets for it ::)

If we carry on like this then this subject will be the most posted ever, until someone comes up with the DVLA figures :)

And I have one and see half a dozen or so in the Grays area so I guess we've got a running total owned and seen of about 30ish so far?

Plus there's 40 odd listed on ebay (shocked to see how little they go for!)

I've only got 3, the more the merrier ;D I know of 4 within 2 miles of my house, and if you go down the road a bit further to Steve Savilles yard i now of another 7 (being broken though)! Plus the 2 he drives. I know of several at Ford in dagenham where i work (one is a member on here), and quite a few more in the local area.

fifth gear on tonights programe wrote M373 HFL scorp off testing legal tyre depth on a wet road,hit old an granada,so another one less.

Well I rescued one from near certain death (as long as I can fix it...)

there are also 2 more very close to me (1 Granada Scorpio Saloon, 1 Mk3 P-reg Saloon (unsure on designation, but has higher breaklight & parking sensors in the bumper))

On the two at Fazakerley that you mention, I am guessing but the Granada Scorpio saloon if it is L reg or earlier is a Mk 3 which are from the same generation as the hatchback even seen some mk3s on an M but they were run out models, I don't think anybody actually used the label mk4 and Ford dropped the Granada designation on the last model and facelift model so ours are just Scorps. ;)

Incidentally I have heard that the new MOT system allows testers to check to see how many of a particular model have MOTs on the system, we would need to get someone to check each body type, engine size and transmission but I think that may do the trick for numbers on the road.
