Title: 'man and boy' - beemer/merc contender!
Post by johndyork on Aug 10th, 2006, 1:54pm
My missus who tolerates my Scorpio enthusiasm read me a paragraph from the novel she is currently reading ('man and boy' by tony parsons ch29, p245) earlier:

'Uncle Jack was always in a suit and tie with some highly polished executive wagon parked outside.  And on the passenger seat of the Scorpio or five series Beemer or big Merc or whatever it was, his chauffeur's hat would be resting.'

Nice to know someone thought of the Scorpio as the contender it was for the beemers and mercs - I wonder if the author is a Scorpio enthusiast!?
Regards, johndyork

Did they make a stretch version for Civic or Funereal  duties ?

Can't say I've ever seen one .

I am a bit worried that a BMW and Scorpio could be confused with each other so easily. The lack of indicators should give the BMW away ::) :P

Why does the limo version have steel wheels? In fact why do a lot of stretch cars have them?  Wheel trims look very out of place on such posh vehicles.

Cheers

Presumably because the stretched Scorp is more likely to be kerbed and wheel trims are cheaper than scuffed alloys!

You may, at your discretion, proceed to your nearest Mercedes Benz or BMW authorized distributor and select the Mercedes Benz or BMW Automobile of your choice. If you answered a, b, or c on two or fewer questions, you may request a retest in two weeks time. Please study the Mercedes Benz or BMW motor vehicle guide in preparation for your retest. If you answered a, b, or c on more than two questions, we're sorry, you just don't have the proper attitude to be a Mercedes Benz or BMW Automobile driver. Perhaps you should consider a good car. Thank you for your interest in Mercedes Benz and BMW Automobiles.
