Just bought my first 4.0L Ford Explorer, looked on confused.com and the best deal for us old fogies over 50 for the group 16 explorer was Saga!! (Thank goodness they dont have tax disc thingies!)

Anyway, went through their cover and sad to say that as long as you arrange the cover online and are "over the age" there's no one comes close.

Full Green Flag comp cover is + 77.00, there's no charge for paying monthly, and to get it "all in" for under 400 notes for a gp 16 seemed good value to me.

My better halves X90 incl bkdn cover came to just under 200.00.

Doubtless I am the oldest on here but if you are close to "the age" it might be worth a look bearing in mind a 2.3 Ultima is only gp 13.

Go via Confused.com to get the best deal (and no I dont work for them!)

I'll speak to my dad cause he had an Explorer 4.0 for a few years. Can't remember the cost of his insurance, but it was suitable enough to have his 2 twenty-something sons as named drivers...
