I heard a story on the news today concerning a scam using Ebay.
A guy had been looking for his dream Merc for a while & saw one on ebay.
It was 'buy it now.....£5000', & the seller wanted cash only.
He agreed to meet the seller to hand over the cash & pick up the car, but when he got there, he was jumped by four blokes & had his five grand stolen :o
There was no Merc for sale. The pictures were of some Merc parked up in a street somewhere :o :o

Yes, I saw that too. Bit worrying.

I think I'd insist on having the car, and keys and documents to the car (to prove that there was a car) and then take the seller to a local branch of my bank to withdraw the funds. You can easily make an arrangement with an out of town bank to do this.

I reckon carrying £5,000 around in cash these days is asking for it.

Poor sod though! >:(

{} way would i turn up with £5000 in my handbag !!

and when peo ask for just cash i always think y are they in such a hurry ???

people shouldent let there hearts rule there heads when they think a bargin have come along.

poor sod though he have prob worked hard and saved hard to get that money :( :( :(

my brother was selling a landrover td for 6k and this chap from suffolk came round and bought it......he had 6k in a ......tesco carrier bag .....every little helps...lol

Would that be the same day that a Suffolk branch of Tescos was robbed of £6000 ? }{
