Title: Re: Freeview In-Car Post by Baz on Nov 25th, 2006, 11:18pm Yes...... I have got the system. Not installed it back in though since I changed to the Galaxy screens and DVD stuff. The freeview does work but not at 70 mph on a motorway etc. I was looking at getting a better quality box to see if it works any better. Why are you thinking of it Mike? |

Title: Re: Freeview In-Car Post by craig on Nov 26th, 2006, 8:39am had it for a while,and in my opinion,total "pants",yes the picture quality is quite good,if you are parked up,high on a hill,close to a transmitter,as soon as you start to move off ****************************************************************************************** thats about as good as the picture gets... |

I might possibly stand a better chance I hope Craig as I live in an area that receives good reception with freeview but obviously wouldn't expect it to work in areas such as Snowden. Mike |

Title: Re: Freeview In-Car Post by craig on Nov 27th, 2006, 1:47pm i hope it works out mike,i live (as the crow flies) 5 miles from the mendip transmitter,by road it's only 8 miles away.... :o :o i do honestly think it depends on what sort of equipment you plan on having in the car.... IMHO buy the best you can afford.... |

Title: Re: Freeview In-Car Post by Baz on Nov 28th, 2006, 1:02am Mike, do a search on "Visteon" there is a seller on there at the moment selling a pair of them. These are probably one of the best you can get and at just over £100.00 they are a bit of a steal. In case you didn't know, Visteon do most of the OEM screens and DVD, HiFi stuff for Ford so a good pedigree!! |

Title: Re: Freeview In-Car Post by craig on Nov 28th, 2006, 6:49am Visteon made your VNR as well mike... ;) |

Title: Re: Freeview In-Car Post by Baz on Nov 28th, 2006, 9:26am Hmmmm..... well judging by the frequency of the updates to the sat nav disks for the VNR..... I'd buy a DVD player!! |
||
Title: Re: Freeview In-Car Post by - Mike - on Nov 28th, 2006, 12:56pm Actually chaps already way ahead. DVD player (with monitor) already installed in a pre-facelift dash (much better now having re-gained the shelf (Granada days)) whilst still using the two headrest monitors, like those Craig had and connected up a source selector to allow multiple choices. |

Title: Re: Freeview In-Car Post by craig on Nov 28th, 2006, 2:41pm WOW.... impressed mike,sounds an excellent set up,all you need now is THAT updated disc (and no,they still have not emailed me either).. >:( |
||
Title: Re: Freeview In-Car Post by - Mike - on Nov 29th, 2006, 1:00pm Actually Craig, in order to fit the DVD I have had to lose the VNR which I will shortly have to sell on, it will no longer fit in the dash. Mike |
