Title: Spam eBay emails?
Post by TiberiuS on Jan 10th, 2007, 10:02pm
Looked on eBay tonight, I have a very interesting 'question for seller' regarding the Scorpio. Transcript follows...

Dear friend :
we are a large foreign trade company which can offer you all kinds of digital and electronical products, all of our items are new and with official warranty from the original companies.we can accept large quantity orders with a good price and high quality.
if you are interesting, contact with me by these way website:www.ele688.com
msn: ele688@hotmail.com

Of course, my only answer to something this would be that yes, I am a very interesting person but as for electronicals, well to be honest, I have enough already...

Not sure whether this is because I sell restored hi-fi gear or just a random spam email sent to x number of sellers but it's a first for me. Only other time I got a deluge of spam emails was about 3 years back when I had an eBay dealing and the seller started to copy me on these miracle potions etc...

Increase the size of certain things (no, not my bank balance unfortunately ;D), get rich in 4 hours, lose 40 pounds in just 7 days (easy if you gamble I guess) etc etc. started returning them and after a few days they stopped.

Has anyone else had this on eBay or am I alone?

Regards, Bruce.

Dave, this is a question for seller on 'my eBay' though, not an email to me. He/she has one feedback...they bid on this item (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160040351163).

Looks like one hell of an item, sorry I missed it ::)

Yes, we've had loads of Ebay spam too.

Get them occasionally which start........... "HEY, why don't you pay for my item"?

This inevitably turns out to be something expensive like a car or a boat in the USA which we've supposedly bid on and of course we've no knowledge of.

I mean....you'd hardly NOT know if you'd bid say 20,000 dollars for a car or a boat, now would you.  CRETINS  ::)

Such obvious SPAM, and we simply forward them to spoof@ebay.com as recommended.

The retards who spoil Ebay like this want stringing up by the testicles, and then beating with a large lump hammer!!  ;D

Another day, another question for seller:

Hmmm...this sounds familiar. They have one feedback, they bid on this (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230038838958) item, notice the detailed descrition. I'd advise them to get it refurbished if they want to drive it back to China ::)

Forwarded to the spoof address at eBay ;)

Regards, Bruce.
