'Jet' of course referring to the filling stations, and 'drooling' referring to the fuel injectors at idle...

I don't want to be "bad" but 4.6 liters and only 310 brake horse power.... When the cossie came out of the factory had 300 horses from the 2.9, and ford de-tuned it to ~around 210 :P

Don't get sucked into the bhp sales pitch

Ford 2.3: 147bhp, 202nm

Ford 24v: 207bhp, 286nm

Ford Cobra 4.6: 310bhp, 407nm

Honda Civic Type R: 198bhp, 193nm

Unless you redline it all the time, torque means far more than bhp. An engine with good torque makes a way better road car engine at low-mid revs :)

Notice how the Honda R has higher bhp than the Ford 2.3 but lower torque...higher bhp because it revs far higher but far less low end power...the opposite of the Cobra V8.

Very good point there, and as the Yanks say over here "There's NO replacement for displacement"

Anybody who's owned an 8 cylinder car will tell you that there is nothing like a V8!!! Except possibly a V10 or a V12 ;D

I would agree that cc is what its about. My 2.9 12v auto granada felt quicker than my 2.3 manual even though the bhp figures are the same. :D

The 2.3 seems a bit better on fuel though. ::)
