Title: Polishing cloths
Post by cossie_al on Feb 20th, 2007, 9:30pm
Over the years I have used cloths aquired from many sources to polish my car.
These have been mainly cotton based materials old sheets being my favorite upto now.
When her incharge of domestic matters came home with the shopping a few weaks back she had some softener (apparently it goes in the white thing with the round hole when she puts clothes in). ???
And this stuff came with a free "pashmina" She tells me its a scarf!!!!
Anyway her incharge of domestics has ample scarfs so this pashmina was heading towards the bin when I intercepted it.
It eventualy found its way to the garage and by pure coincidence was shelved next to my bottle of Mer.
The two were obviously destined to get near the scorp and when I removed this thing from its wrapper it was so so soft and once cut in half did an A1 job of polishing off the scorp.
So the softener is comfort and it comes in a double twin pack therefore you get two free scarfs which makes four very large polishing cloths. (according to the label it 100% viscose whatever that may be) ???
Oh and she got it at Costco

Why buy a bag of cloths from Jofs when you can sort out all the old clothes that you don't wear anymore (& the wifes), then cut them up  ;)

Did this recently & ended up with two bags of thin clothing oil rags & a bag of thicker clothing polishing cloths...  ;D

& you don't have to throw them away....just stick em in the washing machine when they're dirty  :D

And there I was trying to give an amusing light hearted insight into the generaly laborious task of polishing.
What have I started ??? It is now time for me to disown this thread :-[
