I was sitting in the Manchester traffic today and singing along to the CD player and I wondered what you guys listen to.

Elvis is my first love musically, my Dad was a big fan.

I've gotten into country music in the last couple of years, specifically Jimmy Buffett, Alan Jackson, Blake Shelton, Brad Paisley, Kris Kristofferson and Tim McGraw plus one or two others.

My eclectic collection includes Millie Jackson, Andy Williams, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, The Clash, Wreckless Eric, The Undertones and stuff that's just too embarrassing @

That's my list of shame, what's yours?

i listen to the really way out punk stuff and then swap over to classic FM(believe me i do)

at the mo: keane, damien rice, red hot chilly peppers, rolling stones, dusty springfield and nickleback plus travel alerts that always kick in halfway through the song you're listening to!!

I am currently listening to Kaiser Chiefs, The Killers, Snow Patrol, Razorlight, Wolfmother and a bit of Radio 4.

No not really
But I do like motorhead, acdc, Queen and a whole heap of classical.
My musical taste is wide and varied

Anything really, as long as it's tuneful ::)

I'm a big modern jazz/soul fan, the likes of Courtney Pine, Incognito, Carleen Anderson, 4 Hero (classical vs jazz/dance heaven), Erykah Badu, Jill scott...

...

Also some lesser known stuff by people like Martha Redbone, the Rebirth...loads more I can't remember at the moment - some great new music out there, not all tuneless rubbish :-*

Also have some older stuff, got a couple of Steely Dan albums, some old Issac Hayes, Roy Ayers, Bob Marley and Donny Hathaway - some of his bluesy solo stuff was superb...

One of my favourite all time tracks is Naima by John Coltrane, just a classic...

Geoff, my cousin is a big Millie Jackson fan, he went to see her in Hackney years ago...he says she was a good performer but...how can I put it...said some outrageous things later in her career which would get me thrown out of this forum if I repeated ::). But, you can't beat the old black soul artists for true feeeling for their music...he bought a trilogy of her music from the states, the songs in order tell a story.

And yeah, I love that old jazz like Ella...voice like a bell, I don't think any vocalist could ever beat her for dynamic range. Would like to get hold of her live ad-lib version of Mac the knife, best version I ever heard :)

try lost prophets on pioneer 6x9's scorp standards and a pioneer 15inch sub muhahhahahhahahha....give everyday combat a listen while u cruise its pure driving music for me :) ;)

I usually listening for the next thing to go wrong with the car :-/, wheel bearings, propshaft rumble, chain rattle, compressor squeal, Etc.

Apart from doing that, a little bit of classic rawk usually does the trick.

Adiemus, Isaac Hayes, Status Quo, Lots of classical, and anything else that takes my fancy.

Can't STAND certain radio presenters who rabbit rabbit rabbit......usually a whole load of claptrap.
Judi Spiers for example on radio Devon..Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh. >:(

at the mo i've been listening to a new band called gossip, not a bad album, other than that i've got the clash in there, stiff little fingers, a mixture of rock and a blues cd i made up with various artists like srv etc....

Hi,not far from Manchester myself and usually have Capital Gold on the radio,they play a great lot of oldies,but when I switch to cd it is normally a bit of Quo, Big Country and ELO,but you can,t beat a bit of Quo. ;DRoy.

PS need to keep "Chapes" turned up a bit to cover the sound of the "birds" in the dash.....they constantly tweet whilst the heater/aircon is turned on......I think it's the system monitoring/adjusting itself to keep the temp.as per set. BUT it does get on your nerves eventually, I have to turn it off now and again for some true Ultima peace and quiet!

Dove, you'll find that track on the 'Dry bearings' album by the group 'AC Blower motor'. I believe the track is called 'Take me out and oil me'

I bet you don't listen in the XJS, that lovely growl of the AJ16 spooling up in sport mode...mmmm ::)

Strange thing is Tiberius I DONT think it is the blower motor bearings, the noise isnt linked to blower speed and tends to come and go at random. It's like something is ratcheting back and forth to adjust the system/temp ???

Well what do you know, my 2.3 has the same owl in the dash...maybe it's an optional that goes with the "wood". Also the iddle plays a nice tune called..."My IACV is stuck again" and rev at iddle with 1200-1600 rpm.

On the 2.3 in general i play the radio, i hate tapes and it has a 5000 series :P, i did adapt an amp on it so i can play mp3's but in town use i hate draging "extras" with me, on the cossie at the moment i listen to to nightwish, metallica, shania twain, carlos santana, irish drinking songs collection - which i especially like ;D, and some american country music, yeeeaaahhaaa....goes great when throttling to the floor kicking it down ;D

PS: does anyone here has the same problem ? when using stuff like AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Rammstein, Nightwish or Metallica the mpg tends to zero :)

I kick out Stevie Wonders Master-blaster, even my two kids tell me to turn it up. They also love it when i belt out a bit of Paul Weller.
