Post by MARTIND on Feb 25th, 2007, 6:13pm
Hi , MARTIND Here

Will have my 1995 2.9 Ghia 12v Scorpio by this time Tommorrow

I Bought it off Ebay Unseen  :P No T&T

Had a good description though , only "known" faults are a new abs sensor needed & a Set of Pads at the Back

So ..... Hopefully I won't be requiring much Help from the Site

Wish me Luck

MARTIND

Looks like quite a nice car, I'd be tempted to fit new discs as well as the pads while your at it - for what it costs, you'll soon be addicted to the site even when there is nothing wrong !!

What does that little button next to the headlight switch do ?... :)

Also noticed that the photo has a cab in the background....maybe the Scorp is the sellers old cab ?

Not a problem if it was a licenced cab, as it would have been well serviced & possibly tested by the local licencing authority at least twice a year.... ;)

Welcome aboard, good luck with the car. You said it needs new ABS Sensor, if front then check THIS (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ford-Scorpio-ABS-sensor-BNIB_W0QQitemZ330090758404QQihZ014QQcategoryZ21654QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) out, may be of some use.

Thanks for the Welcomes

Got home late so havn't had a good look around her yet

So far poor repairs to the paintwork - but bodywork sound

Abs light on

Sunroof doesn't open , clicks and tries to move - hopefully just needs a good clean & grease

Remote doesn't work - hopefully just a battery

Started up fine - gonna have to wait til the weekend before I can have a proper play with her

The sunroof details are HERE (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/sunroof.htm). Check out the link on the page to the sunroof motor. The most common cause is the teeth stripping on the motor. If that turns out to be the case post a thread on 'Parts wanted' on the site.  THIS (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/remote_repair.htm) page will tell you all about the remote and re-programming after a battery change
