Wasnt sure where to put this, so i apologise if its in the wrong place!

Here is my recentley aquired 2.0 16v saloon, just wanted to show her off!

Anyone know what the colour is called so i can get a touch up from Fords?

It looks like nouveau red metallic. (I Used to have an S reg that colour!)

Will move this to "Off Topic" Maybe we should have a members cars section??

Nice car mate, i know i go on about halfords but to cheat, write down yoyr VIN number and go into a local halfords, they sell the touch up paints but also they usually have books by the paints, in these books you can match the vin, hence get the perfect colour of your car, also try a ford dealers or parts shop, they should have it on a database, hope this helps

I didint think of halfords for a second, i instantly assumed that like everything else it woudl be a FMD part lol!

I think a members cars section wwould be a great idea, all those in favor say I

Glad you all like her, shes a a little dirty and only has 3 alloys on at the moment due to a VERY worn back tyre that i hadnt noticed when i bought her.. lol

Im starting to think i was VERY hasty when i bought this car lol

To be honest mate, FMD paint is far better than Halfords, I've used both ;)

Where do you live? I've seen a red Scorp with the reg AEG around Dagenham/Hornchurch way a few times, the car looks familiar ;)

I live on a little island called canvey lol it may have been my car, ive only had her a week, so its possible you saw it being driven by the previous owner (who dare i say is not in my good books for abusing such a gorgeous car!!!)

It may have even been me as a do the essex / kent run a lot..

ohh i forgot to say, ive seen 3 others with the AEG prefix, it seems really common for the M reg cars to have that prefix..

on the vin plate, left hand column, second from bottom there's a number or letter (colour code), X is nouveaux red, which i think it is as its an M reg, if its a 1, then its pepper red, which is very similar.....

:o Had to look more than twice then.
Thought it was my old runabout, Part exed it just after Christmas 06.

This is one of the pics the previous owner sent me before going to see it.

It is nouveau red and I have 1/4ltr of paint and possibly a touch up in the garage, will have to check :-/
The wheels are also for sale as soon as I can be bothered to advertise them ;D
BTW how far out is the number plate to yours.

Forgot to mention that when I bought the car the previous owner had got it cheap as a trade-in and he only bought it to make a few £££, The bloke that traded it in was a farmer, You can only imagine :-X

d**n thats uncanny, your old one is EXACTLY 5 numbers out from mine.. it means they were both registered at the same place and probably shared a forecourt somewhere together, although mine was shipped to the isle of mann up till it had done 85,000. I can see why you had to double take, i did when i saw the back plate!!! it does seem to me that a lot of M reg sorps were registered under the AEG prefix!!

If you have touch up RichardMS that would be amazing, let me know what you have and what you want and i shall send you some money via the wonders of paypal, she has a lot of touching up to do after serious abuse from the last owner..

Only five out, That is close, The farmer that owned it lived in St Austell, Cornwall. I can't remember where the servicing was done in the book from new though :-/
I don't even know if it is still on the road now or not.
With regards to the touch-up etc I will look Friday on my next day off ;)

I saw an M reg in Loden Green today and that was an AEG reg too!

See i was right! lol there was a dark blue cosworth on Ebay with the AEG reg also, so i think that a lot of the M reg models were under that plate..

Ironic really.. i feel like ive discovered something lol

FD... it was probably where Ford pre-registered all the Scorpios ready for the 1st day of sales and the big boom of sales... which never happened!
