Hi Taliban
Sorry your box is U/S.........haven't you got "Virgin Media" yet?
We're ex telewest customers, our cable is OK tonight.......?
Try "re-booting" your box.......on ours it's the button on the left hand side, usually works when it goes Tits up!
Good Luck

I had the all in one package with ntl for tv/phone/broadband until just over two jears ago when I cancelled the tv (to switch to sky) and the phone (didn't use it). I kept the broadband but ntl haven't billed me since then.

Yes folks, free broadband.   ;)

I tried my best - honest, to speak to someone but gave up after being shunted around from person to person. I actually want the faster speed but can't ask for it in case they find out !

Same service but with a new name.I used to have NTL and I was surprised to learn that Mr Branson had expanded his empire, now Virgin Media,I wonder if it is now any better. ???Roy.

Virgin seem ok so far.
We went cable before Christmas to enjoy HDTV. Took the full cable channel package, over 100 channels :-/, a lot of which we never watch, but I particularly wanted Discovery Wings........last week they axed it >:(
On the upside you get a PVR with 80 hrs + recording, loads of stuff on TV Drive - whole series and all sorts of programmes free on demand - just like a library!
Also 300+ pay per view films of all sorts. Also access to all SKY Movies Channels as an extra cost.
I looked at Sky HD but thought the package too expensive, it would have run to about £50/month, tho much more HD content. Since we dont watch a huge amount of TV this didn't matter too much. Also with Virgin you "rent" the box, if it goes wrong they come and fix it. With Sky you buy the box (£300 tho £150 on offer if you're lucky), if it goes wrong they charge you for repairs.
Currently we pay £35/ month tho am about to "re-negotiate". The market is so competitive Virgin are offering some great deals to keep customers ;D
Generally the service is stable with little downtime and picture quality on "normal" channels is very good - better than digital via an aerial I would say.
Overall assessment.......8/10. All we need is more HD content.
Hope this helps
NB We do not have phone or internet on cable. (YET)
