Title: mercedes paint work
Post by TRACEYS_LIMO on Mar 31st, 2007, 9:55pm
it seems the owners of mercs upto 15 years old, if they are rusty because the paint is to thin, they will be repainted by M B free of charge. its all to do with water based paint. its world wide and its going to cost them millions so if the wife runs a merc  ;)

theres been lots of problems with modern paints being 'soft', its down to the lead being taken out of paint. it did feature on watch dog once, owners (cant remember the make) trying to get compensation for bird lime etc damaging paint work. watchdog hounded (pun intended ;D) the car maker which i thought was a bit unfair as the legislation was forced on car makers, and, how long was it before the owners washed their cars.....

Pointless info but my dad had an old G reg 190E and all of the lacqur fell off, i mean just pealed away, seems to me that mercedes spend so much on the car and the equiptment they forgot to use decent paint..
