It does sometimes make you laugh when you read these adverts. This one was his first proper car. What were the previous ones then - were they not proper cars then ?

My Scorp was owned by West Ham Utd......

....You reckon it's worth more than the market value ?.........nahhhhhh

Could have had a few famous players in it though, judging by the amount of mud there was on the carpets  ::)

I wonder if Paulo Di-Canio ever sat in the back at some point, as the drivers headrest looks as though it may have been headbutted  }{ }{

He should buy it back, he`ll regret it in 20 years looking back to his youth.
Thats why people buy BSA bantams and yamaha FS1E`s, or mini`s :'(
Anyway, if it was good enough for him, its good enough for me :)

Unbelieveable that someone should bid this much. I always said that football/ers/supporters had nothing between their ears.  ;)

As has been pointed out. The car didn't even belong to Golden Nuts. And even if it had done.....So What.

At the end of the day, it's just another second hand car. Ten a penny. Must be one of the best rip-offs on Ebay at present.

Whatever the final price is....once he's made is money back, then he should donate the rest to charity, as I'm sure David Beckham would have  :)

I just got back from France and found this thread...

I nearly bought this Beckham Scorpio about 5 years ago when the bloke who bought it off MUFC was selling it. He lived in Nottingham and the car had about 95k on it at the time and I spent a few long chats on the phone to him about it.

Didn't bother in the end because I was actually after the facelift model but he did tell me the history and the log book stuff etc.

Should have bought it judging by the price!!!

Okay looking through the phone book there are a few people with famous names.
I am going to ring round get them to put my car in there name and then supposidly sell it back to me so that the previous owner looks lika a famous person.

No Al...............It's Sheearar.  Do concentrate!!  ;D   ;D

I reckon that there's something VERY DODGY about this whole sale.

If you look in Ebay 'Completed items' you'll see that the price it originally fetched when the auction finished, (£5095), has been conveniently deleted and replaced with £100....!!!   Along with a caption that the "Seller made an error with the listing"......

All looks very dodgy to me. Probably a lot of shill bidding by matey traders going on if you ask me, to pump the price up. I wouldn't have any faith or trust in this seller after this. Something smells very FISHY.

I mean....what's the point?  The car's simply not worth that much. It's a sad joke.  ;)

Yes That's what I thought, get a few mates to place bids, up goes the price and if one of them wins it they conveniently make a few alterations, I wonder if e-bay are aware of any shinnanigans.... Hmmm it's like a suspense thriller, we'll see what comes of it, the whole thing stinks to me... yes,  []

THAT is what is known as SHILL bidding.

It's illegal on Ebay, and can result in the Seller being suspended or even kicked off the site altogether.

Like a football perhaps....... }{  }{  }{

Crazy. Looking at some of the ads now, eBay is becoming so Americanised :(.

I nearly got suspended before Christmas because they said my hifi repair listings were misleading, what they were really miffed about was that they thought that I was defrauding them out of listing fees. My first listing was removed with no reason and I was sent a standard email stating eBay policy, I relisted it and got a formal warning. In the end I told them to contact the 5 people who had already bought the listing and left feedback to ask them if they felt midlead. They replied with a very polite email but full of standard legal paragraphs. Problem with eBay, like Paypal is that they want the profit but don't give a hoot about policing it - people like me are easy prey, they won't touch the scammers because they'd lose too much money.

Such is life...

Why have they altered the photos, or is it just my eyes playing tricks on me.  In the side on photo, the car has been squashed slightly, making it appear shorter...  Is it me????
