Title: Cherokee jeep Post by pat on Jul 1st, 2007, 2:56am Sky news today. Journalist after journalist referring to the vehicle at Glasgow airport as a Cherokee Jeep. Even the on screen banner said the same. Robin Reliant all over again. Where do they get these people?> Sent them an email but no response. Hands up all those who are surprised. No - thought not. |

Don't people in the know (anoraks ;)) refer to these cars as "Royce's" because Henry Royce was the engineer who brought the technical side and Rolls merely the vulgar salesman? Could have been a clued up villian? ;D |

Title: Re: Cherokee jeep Post by mr._floppy on Aug 10th, 2007, 10:08pm Jeep is a generic term for any Military Utilitary 4x4 vehicle many years before it was a Division of Chrysler. GM and Ford also made wartime versions of the Jeep. It was only recently that Jeep became a Designated Marque. So when someone says Cherokee Jeep, they're maybe correctly vdescribing the model and style of vehicle, like; Mini Van, Granada Estate or Golf Convertible. |
