Title: MOT PASSED Post by pat on Jul 31st, 2007, 4:24pm It's done it! The estate's finally passed its MOT. New tax disc on- from tomorrow, we are a 2xrunning Scorp family again. :) Also, my mate who took it clogged it up and down the A614 first and reckons the engine is running ok apart from a "slight" flat spot. But I don't believe him. |

Title: Re: MOT PASSED Post by mr._floppy on Aug 2nd, 2007, 5:32pm Only 6 000 miles this year, so less wear and tear on the running gear. However, as is life, there is a price to pay. :-/ I don't know what the hell these guys do during the test, and other posters have noticed this, it's never the same when you get it back is it ? Be it a softer brake pedal or a rattle where there wasn't one before, or a pull to the left........................ With me ?......................I now have a vibration through the steering wheel at parking speed, where there was none 15 hours ago !!! Any MOT testers here ? Do they lift both front wheels off the ground and thrash it from lock to lock ? |

Title: Re: MOT PASSED Post by Tompion on Aug 2nd, 2007, 6:41pm Probably air in the power steering, quite common when the front's lifted I believe - should clear after a few mile. Dave |

Title: Re: MOT PASSED Post by mr._floppy on Aug 2nd, 2007, 8:09pm Yes, I had a look through the Fault Finder section, and it does confirm your diagnosis. Panic over ;) |

Title: Re: MOT PASSED Post by pat on Aug 2nd, 2007, 8:22pm Well done on the MOT mate. 'Er Indoors 2.9 does that on the steering if it has been parked half on and half off the drive between us and next door. Frightened me to death the first time it did it :o as it took about 2 miles before it cleared! ;D |

Title: Re: MOT PASSED Post by pappa on Aug 3rd, 2007, 5:34am The Granny I drive has passed Finnish MOT now twice, with flying colors, but after the MOT I once had to re-new front wishbone bushes. The car had been stocked in Germany for two to three years and that is not good for the rubber parts. So in the MOT, the bushes cracked and after a few days the steering started shaking on breaking. Fixed with a new pair of bushes. Same happened once to my -96 24V |
