Title: Re: fuel Post by joe-satch on Nov 14th, 2007, 7:21pm hi,im all for boycotting garages...but it needs to be done by everybody who drives,and people who boycott a garage would just put in extra the day before..i for one have had enough of the greedy people that profitier from all these fuel prices,there was a fire last week a few miles from me here in essex at a refinery...and there was talk of putting the price up because of it..action needs to be taken by everyone. ??? ???.regards den. |

Title: Re: fuel Post by Highlander on Nov 14th, 2007, 7:46pm Yep, been getting them for years, too many people just pay up and dont care, its a great idea but its not going to happen until the majority get REALLY fed up with high prices. I dont think we really pay that much different to most of Europe though |

Title: Re: fuel Post by Tons_of_fun on Nov 14th, 2007, 8:02pm Thing is ,last time we protested things were going well until little jonny ran out of nappies,or the pizza delivery couldnt deliver.Sad truth of the matter is "united we stand -devided we fall" & lets be honest there isnt enough people in this country with a backbone to stand up to this thingy turpin goverment. >:( |

Title: Re: fuel Post by Tons_of_fun on Nov 14th, 2007, 8:03pm It,s all going wonky again .What i typed was d i c k turpin ::) ::) |

Title: Re: fuel Post by mr._floppy on Nov 14th, 2007, 10:22pm <<< I dont think we really pay that much different to most of Europe though>>> Maybe, but do our European motoring partners have to pay a compulsory £185 annual Road Tax and have to pay a £50 ( if you pass, a lot more should you fail !!!) compulsory stringent annual roadworthiness test ? We get shafted from both ends, and my eyes are beginning to water :( Say what you like about the French, they at least know how to show their government their displeasure at unfair policies or laws. Us ? we just moan a wee bit then settle down to watch Strictly Celebrity Jungle X Factor . |

Title: Re: fuel Post by big_neil on Nov 15th, 2007, 4:42pm if my memory serves me correctly, the yanks done it once boycotting a certain company then when they dropped their price they done the other companies as well and it worked (don,t know why as their fuel prices are not as daft as ours) |

Title: Re: fuel Post by joe-satch on Nov 15th, 2007, 5:57pm hi..yes thats right...but would never work here...theres always someone that would fill up....most likely the 4x4 or the BMW driver who takes the children to school 200 yards away.thats why any goverment of this country can and will tax-tax-and tax the motorist again and again...because he knows nothing will happen,and he can get away with it,its the same with the congestion charge...it started at £5....now (because ken got away with it)...its £8 per day..... ???..regards den. |

Title: Re: fuel Post by Tons_of_fun on Nov 21st, 2007, 12:03pm Not being happy with the goverment ripping us off,my local shell station is in on the act too !.Petrol is exactly £1 a litre.So i puy in £30 worth.How much fuel do i get ? ? ? 29.17 litres >:( >:(.When i asked the attendant if he knew the pump was out by a bus ride he shrugged his shoulders & said he didnt care. >:(So i counted out £29.17 & said if he didnt like it he should call the police.Which he did.To cut a long story short i had to pay the full amount,but not before i got the copper to write a report THERE & THEN as proof of the incident.Phoned standard fair trade this morning & reported it.Thing is though,how many people has he been ripping off & for how long ?One things for sure i wont be going back there again. |

Title: Re: fuel Post by Simmo on Nov 21st, 2007, 2:19pm That equates to 102.84 per litre...nearly 13p a gallon more. You could ask the Police if they are aware of the Fraud Act, HERE (http://www.opsi.gov.uk/acts/acts2006/ukpga_20060035_en_1#pb1-l1g2) section 2, Fraud by False representation. |

Title: Re: fuel Post by Tons_of_fun on Nov 22nd, 2007, 12:40am Not just principles dan...MONEY >:( >:( I,ve used this garage for the last 5 years,spending between £30-60 a week.Who knows how much i,ve overpaid.Trading standards were on the ball though.A officer was sat in my living room at 5.15 this evening taking a statement.Cant say too much more because i,ve now signed a confidential document,but i have every faith in our justice system ::) & im sure the offender will get whats coming to them.Doubt i,ll ever get any over paid money back though :'( :'( |
