I think this may depend on your perception of who's side you are on surely.
Regarding the wicker man, I think that the character played by Edward Woodward (the policeman) was his own worst enemy. After all, If a naked nubile blonde bit of tottie danced into my hotel room on a remote Scottish Island and the memsahib diddnt mind too much...perhaps not.
Hmmmm, burning or blonde totty.

For me it has to be the comic book guy,probably because until recently i was the spitting image of him...except im not yellow & the beard & ponytail have now gone :(

What about the Alien franchise? Although there are survivors at the end, they haven't really "won", have they?

Alien: All of Ripley's crew is killed.
Aliens: as near as all of the marines protecting her gets decked, as well as "60-70 families" worth of colonists...
Alien3: heck, she dies in this one.
Alien Resurrection: ad verbatim.

They aren't "bad" guys - just totally inept, useless, country ruining lefties.
But now at least with Gordon Bean in charge it looks more hopeful than ever that the gravy train is coming off the rails.

yeah the wicker man, one of my faves, any movie where one of the scum gets burnt to a crisp is alright by me lol. ;D ;D ;D
