three gems from traffic reports during thursday,s severe weather,
The M74 southbound is completely closed with one lane open due to an overturned lorry at lockerbie.
the A1 northbound at dishforth is completely closed with one lane open due to an overturned lorry ,diversions in place using the A19.
the M6 northbound is completely closed with one lane open between jcts.43 &44 due to an overturned lorry.
i was at my brother,s house which backs on to the M6 at this position and the motorway was running as normal in both directions.
the last report resulted in carlisle being gridlocked for most of the morning as drivers didn,t know whether to use the M6 or come thro, the city ,
obviously the traffic reporters all went to the same academy.
i thought i hadn,t heard it right but other people commented on it as well.

Well its not like me to be cynical BUT ;D

If you were going to be heading up the M6 and were going to hit traffic then how much time might you save by phoning one of these radio stations and reporting the road was closed?? ;)

Not a cloud in the sky today in sunny south Essex......a bit of a nip in the wind though :)....must be coming from up north ;D
