Title: Exhaust Longevity ? Post by mr._floppy on Feb 20th, 2008, 11:33am Apart from replacing the flexi joint, my exhaust is at least four years old, probably older as it was well rusty when I bought it in 2004. Passed every MOT though. I doubt it's the original but they seem to last well, maybe it's because the car gets driven every day. Anyone got an older one ? |

Title: Re: Exhaust Longevity ? Post by jonnycab on Feb 20th, 2008, 11:46am I've never had to replace an exhaust on any car that I've used as a taxi & the exhaust on my Scorp hasn't really deteriorated much in the two years & 50K miles since I bought the car :) The more you use a car the less likely the chances of the exhaust rotting. For starters the moisture can't get into a hot exhaust & any moisture that gets in while parked overnight etc will quickly evapourate when the car is started & the exhaust heats up again ;) |

Title: Re: Exhaust Longevity ? Post by Matt on Feb 20th, 2008, 7:44pm the exhausts on the scorpio are make of a very good quality material, which hasn been rolled to a tin foil thickness, you only need to try and lift the system on your own to realise that lol. i remember cutting a 12v's one up a while back and it was arround 3mm thick! |
