Hi all,was wondering if anyone can recommend a polish to use on un treated aluminium.Stripped the paint from my roof rails today & have tried various polishes (all for painted surfaces) with little effect.They dont look too bad,but could look a whole lot better.(Trying to save going to a professional polisher.....Skinflint) ;D ;D ;D.Thanks .....craig :)

you'd probably be best using polishing mops with an electric drill using quite a fine grade polish block, for a cheaper alternative autosol metal polish is good, use by hand with a quality polishing cloth.....

Thanks for the suggestions chaps.Autosol has come up lots of times,but i dont think it will be abrasive enough to remove the "key" marks on the bars,(looks like it was keyed with a wire brush in a drill !!! ).Will give autosol a go for now but i can see a visit to a polishers on the horizon :'( :'(.Any idea how much it might cost ? ? ? .Ta .....Craig :)

autosol wont get rid of the marks you describe, but a 20 quid polishing kit for an electric drill will....
