Title: Ebay
Post by LiverpaulH on Apr 7th, 2008, 9:19am
Thanks to craig (Tons of Fun) I have been pointed to a bloke breaking a diesel scorpio estate on ebay. Only problem is he's used the picture of my scorpio attached to my trailer on our drive at home that I use as my avatar on this site.

Do you need to be a member to browse these forums? Because this is the only place that I have put the picture on. If so I'd be interested to know which member of this site feels it is ok to use a picture of someone else's perfectly working car to advertise a breaker.

Not impressed with the seller just_puntos or ebay. When it went on first time I complained to ebay and got some bog standard reply saying they would deal with it, but obviously they didn't as the ad has gone up again with the same picture.

I've spoken to the bloke this morning and asked him to remove the picture, but I'm not holding my breath.

You don't have to be a member to browse this site.
Anyone can get back to your host site and look at ANY pictures unless you've set up restrictions where you've posted your pictures.

Anyone can browse the forums, so he isn't necessarily a member here. It doesn't mean that he *isn't* a member though.

Whoever it is ,using someone elses picture without permission is a liberty. If the seller has to stoop to using "other images" how honest & trustworthy do you think they might be.

Before I logged in - as guest - I right clicked on your photo and copied the properties which give the full path of the hosting site. Backspace to the folder and you get to the albums - go further and you get to all albums (nice picture of Anna Friel BTW! ;) )

So anyone can do this - maybe even doing a search! Best to put a copyright notice on the site if you can!

If the picture is YOURS then you have ALL the copyright  on it . You can charge him for its use but getting the money may be difficult.. I ALWAYS put a copyright on those sort of pictures as I did on my own web site ... Stops them using it worth doing in future as it does NOT have to be large or too obvious .
