Title: Re: First Time Ever!!!! Post by Geoff_W on Jul 17th, 2008, 12:01am Mm well just had my friendly local garage free the 12valves prior to a tow bar fitting session on Friday. Quite a bit of heat needed and final solution was to weld 19mm nuts on to torx bolts, that did the trick ;D |

Title: Re: First Time Ever!!!! Post by Baz on Jul 18th, 2008, 2:38am When I ttok the rear bumper off my red S reg Scorpio a good few years back to fit parking sensors, it never had torx bolts, it had normal headed bolts. Not sure of they were originals but I don't see why they would have been taken off previously! |

Title: Re: First Time Ever!!!! Post by Highlander on Jul 18th, 2008, 9:51am Did it have a tow bar Baz? Depending on the type of tow bar used the original torx bolts are sometimes replaced if there is a crossmember passing below them as they arent long enough to pass through it and still get a hold. |

Title: Re: First Time Ever!!!! Post by Geoff_W on Jul 18th, 2008, 2:02pm My NEW Witter bar has bolts to replace the Torx. I know feel somewhat more secure around the back end thanks to the various pieces of angle iron and hefty bolts beefing up the back end ;D |

Title: Re: First Time Ever!!!! Post by Baz on Jul 20th, 2008, 10:07pm I have the Brink removeable one on S29 and that has about 20 bolts holding it all in place (Has to be type approved for the S reg as well!) As for the red one, I don't think it ever had a towbar on it so no idea how it ended up with "normal" headed bolts instead of torx ones |
