Title: New Style Wiper Blades
Post by lesterlad on Apr 4th, 2009, 12:08am
I fitted a pair of those new style flat wiper blades to my Scorp yesterday and WOW what a difference.

By just using the screen wash jets I noticed how the sweep of the blades left no smears, they are very quiet as well, just waiting for heavy rain now to give them a proper test  ;D

Anyone else got them ?

1)As I say, waiting for a good downpour to give them a thorough test, If they pass I'll be getting one for the tailgate, even though I have recently paid FMD £8+ for a normal one.

2)They use the same type of clip that is used on original blades but more refined.

i bought a set off ebay , i think they`re called aero blades (they are sent from guernsey) they sit flush on the screen , and they work a treat in a real downpour

That's exactly where I got mine from.

No rain here yet, looks like a trip to Peterborough to use some of gozz's rain  }{

someone tried them a year or so ago and came to the conclusion of not really being worth the extra cost when you can pick up a perfectly adequate pair of standard blades from lid etc for a few quid.
if your current blades are noisy/smear, try cleaning them with glass cleaner, takes 30 seconds, if that doesnt work then you're due for new blades anyway....

it's always best to try things personally... people's opinion are different, depending on what they were expecting ;)

so far, most people recommend them, i'll try them soon and will see ;)

I had set on mine for 18 months before I decided to change them and in all that time they were brilliant, far better than standard ones. So with that I fitted a second pair of the same make and what rubbish they were, 2 months later and I was back to original style blades (only because these were free).

I have used those since september last year. They are Bosch AeroTwins but "backwards compatible" mounting. Must say they beat all the blades I have had so far as they form very well to the windshield. Be careful with the length when you order and measure with the old one. I think the driver side (LHD) wiper should be an inch longer, although bosch listed this set as intended for Scorpio 95-98. Some stores sell clones of these for 6-7 euros, just need to look for them. My set was around 25 euros from German ebay, which was quite good I think.

well blades tested properly and i must say that i'm impressed. they look lot better on the car then the standard ones but what's most important, they do their job at least 10 times better :)
strongly recommended.
