Title: Heavy duty pop-up gazebo
Post by - Mike - on May 19th, 2009, 6:36pm
On the lookout for the above as I am fed up with being rained off and getting no work done!

Has anyone any experience of a good quality one  ???

TIA
Mike

I bought one from Halfords;
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_183445_langId_-1_categoryId_165669

It allows me to set up my table saw and carry on working, so I figured it was money well spent. Not 100% waterproof but certainly showerproof. Assembles in two mins but really awkward if not impossible on your own.

Depends what you want/mean by heavy duty... on E-bay industrial pop-up gazebos are £206 so I guess you get what you pay for there.  The Halfords one does me for what I want and how often I use it., plus it's there if I want to use it at home.

Argos are doing pretty good deals on gazebo's at the moment....HERE (http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?pp=20&s=Price%3A+Low+-+High&storeId=10001&catalogId=1500001501&langId=-1&q=GAZEBOS&x=19&y=7)......Not monsoon proof, but will probably protect from the normal drizzle  ;)..... :)

Thanks Chaps
Positioning and securing obviously can make a difference to the performance of a gazebo but still to be perfectly honest I was looking towards something a little more substantial such as

THIS (http://www.mtlleisure.co.uk/Aluminium-2.5m-x-2.5m-Heavy-Duty-Pop-up-Gazebo/208.htm)

I have actually seen even better than this (internet only) with metal corner brackets but unfortunately the price jumps up considerably so I'm reckoning this might be a compromise between the DIY bend and break with a only a small gust of wind and the true industrial one's that can handle much stronger winds.

I was just hoping someone had some experience of these so called heavy duty types before.

Mike

Try Makro, I have one for working in the rain, same as the Halfords one but only cost me £18 +vat. ASDA do them as well even cheaper.

Cheers
Colin
