Are parts for 2.9 compatable with a 2.3 enginge ie, starter/alternator, exhaust,manifold even battery??
got a chance of a 2.9 going,so was wondering what I can keep off it..

hi there

the only thing that will change over is the battery!

remember you have a 4 pot, the 12 is a V6!

you should forget the engine side of it as i don't think anything else fits (but not sure).

thanks andrew,so only the running gear would be all ok,would still be worth getting if all goes to plan.

Mick.
The brakes may differ,particularly front,the ECU ,presuming it's a 12 valve engine,is the EEC IV as against EEC V,the autobox is semi electronic only,the drive shafts are bigger and the diff has a higher ratio.A lot of things electrical and electronic,modules etc will be compatible though.

So maybe the 2.9 's not a good idea after all. Will maybe have to lie in wait , ready to pounce on a 2.3 ;)
