Title: Things you do when you're bored
Post by Jonnycab on Jun 25th, 2009, 3:48am
Bought this Nikko remote control Ford F150 monster truck off Ebay a few months ago for the pricely sum of a fiver.....Quite big at just under 20" long, a bit battered but fully operational, has a limited slip diff & does about 15mph with a fully charged battery pack....

Anyway, a couple of Sundays ago I really didn't have much to do, so dug it out of the shed & thought the colour & decals looked a bit naff. So decided to do a bit of a 'Pimp My Ride' on it  ;)

A can of satin black spray paint, some flame decals & a couple of layers of laquer & this is how it turned out....

I think it looks pretty cool  8)

It's a bit sad I know ::)....but things you do when you're bored eh  ;)......... ;D

Anything nice Mike ?...This one is okay but not very fast & the batteries die pretty quick  ::)

Was thinking of upgrading to a fuel powered truck. It'll no doubt cost a bit more than I paid for this one, but I'm willing to go up to maybe a tenner  ;)....... ;D

nice  ;D I used to have a six wheel drive r/c monster that could do around 30MPH unfortunately it ended it's life under a truck  ::) but that was years ago...

Woj, you reminded me of a fond childhood memory when was in the back of my dads brand new Cortina estate (along time ago) & we were driving along next to a common. There was a guy on the common playing about with a very fast R/C buggy that looked like a Meccano kit.
All of a sudden this buggy came shooting out of the long grass at the edge of the common & straight under the back wheel of the Cortina.......I remember looking out the back window & seeing a load of squished Meccano in the road with a wheel sticking up....& then the car behind us ran it over again  }{

I have a Tamiya TR-15T nitro powered truck...which one day I may get around to running. It was the first nitro kit Tamiya produced and I guess must be about 15-20 years old now. Quite a rare model.  8)
Also have rather too many electric powered models...  ;)
