i dont think they are too accurate while stationary or moving slowly but generally ok once you're on the move.

Could it have been getting a reflection? puddle?

If it took that long for the A/C to have any effect I would have thought it was time for an A/C check/topup service.

It should start to cool as soon as it is switched on ..

With regards the accuracy. I have always found the temperature display;ay to be accurate, after comparing with a mercury thermometer.

I think im going to put this one down to it being a VERY hot day indeed. I took the reading whilst travelling at 50 mph along the motorway . The aircon was blowing cold from the second i switched it on. It was that hot in the car it was a good 10 mins before i began to feel comfortable  :o. Really dont want too many days more of that heat  :-/. It's fine while your sat on a beach with a tall cold drink but hell when your crawling along the M42  ;D ;D ;D. Thanks for the info chaps...Craig  :)
