Title: Spares carried :)
Post by Highlander on Aug 29th, 2009, 1:50pm
Just wondered after my "Breakdown" thread if I'm the only one that carries spares :)

Who said Scorpios werent reliable ;)

What spares if any do you carry in the boot??

I'm running a 2.3 Auto Estate at the minute and heres what I carry  }{

Alternator
Starter
Coil pack
Spark plug
Spark plug lead (Long one)
Serpentine belts (long one and a short one in case the aircon fails)
EDIS unit
Water hoses
Water pump
Both fuseboxes! (not to replace them, just for the fuses/relays)
Camshaft sensor
Crankshaft sensor
rear hub complete
MAF
Oxygen sensor
Headlight switch

I am with Autoaid (£36 a year) for breakdown recovery which includes everything but home start.

but I do like to be able to repair things myself if i can (As long as its not raining) ;)

I think I was born 40 years too late! :)

You're mixing up drive belts with timing belts. Drive belts are for running AC compressors and alternators.

Yep, the alternator drive belt  ;)....takes a couple of minutes to replace that one  :)

Not sure anyone would attempt a roadside timing chain replacement  ;D
