Evening all. Have a bit of a cheeky question to ask ::) ::) ::). I need a set of wheels to go from Birmingham, up to Middlesborough & was wondering if anyone is going that way soon ;D I will be happy to bung you some beer tokens for your trouble & as much Tea & bacon sarnies as you can take while you are at mine ;). Im trying to get the wheels to a member but so far the cheapest quote i've had from a courier is £65 :o >:(. Only other alternative is to drive them up there but again im probably looking at £50 in petrol ( ooohh those cossies dont half drink ) ::) ::). If anyone can help us out we would be very gratefull. Thanks... Craig

Try ebay seller 'wheel_carrier' - they seem to be offering an alloy wheel transportation service.

Evening all. Mike thanks for the tip. Will make enquiries Monday morning ;D. Hiya Gozz. Long time no chat ::). Yep it looks like a 'mid way' meet is the answer. trouble is it is still going to cost both of us around £30 petrol round trip & it seems a shame to go all that way for a 5 min 'rondevue' ( sorry cant spell ). Are there many members around that area that fancy an inpromtu meet ::) ;) ;D ;D ;D

Hiya Rod, like the idea m8 ::) ;). Thanks for the offer Stuart. At the time we still hadnt finalised the deal & TBH the wheels are still on the car. Thanks to the lousy weather i have only just finished tarting the outer rims up on the 5 spokes ( painting in the kurb marks ). Hopefully will have the 5 spokes on this weekend & all will be well in the world again ;D. When we finalise a time & a place i'll anounce it on here & see if anyone else fancys popping down for a mini meet ;)

I hope to be going up to York on 17th. Dec. to fetch my son. I travel from Somerset. M5 - M42 and I don't mind travelling up to Middlesborough and back to York where I will stay overnight B and B then back home on the 18th.

I am glad to help if poss. Small petrol donation would help

Cheers Craig, methinks everytime I am on the M42/A42 temptation will raise it's head ::), especially when it is dark, siling rain, rush hour(s) and jammed - somebody mention Jam? - up.

Must admit though, the M42/A42 ain't that bad. Just sit in one of the centrer Lanes (there are lots in places where you get a choice) top speed 45mph and it is amazing how much space materializes in front of you ::), bit noisy behind mind you and why all those flashing light and victory signs EH :-X

I know what you mean Mike. God bless the M42 ::). Thursday night traffic was brought to a standstill at 11.45 PM :o :o. Lord knows why ::). As it happens im only 5 mins from the M42 & 2 mins from the M6, so as said your always welcome ;).....Rod you know me ssssooooooo well ;). Yes it's true, i do eat a lot of pies :) Thats how i keep my lovely figure ;D ;D ;D

The Emporium van is now empty and laid up until the new year cuz there's no driver for it.

It's very kind of you to consider me for the temporary post of chauffer to the Emporium Rodders,however after careful consideration I am afraid that on this occasion I must decline owing to a marked upturn in demand for me to convey the deceased to their final resting place,unfortunately,although we have many strange requests for this service,as far as I'm aware no one has yet requested to make their last journey in an Emporium van,but then looking on the bright side,stranger things have happened !! 8)

That must be why everyone crosses to the other side of the road when I approach,and I always assumed that it was to do with my profession :( Don't know if Rodders has a similar problem ?

Maybe you';re driving on the wrong side?? ;D
