Title: your havin a larf arnt you! Post by big_neil on Jan 29th, 2010, 4:21pm when i was helping out at mot,s tother day a customer called in and asked how much to replace a dip headlight bulb in a renault modus. he had one done at renault main dealer,4 hours labour @£90 per hour to remove the front of the car and £10 for the bulb plus vat. my mate says thats right 4 hours to remove and replace the front of the car to gain access and a tenner for the bulb but his labour is £35 per hour. now we know why so many cars are running round with one light! |

Title: Re: your havin a larf arnt you! Post by Scorpio_Mike on Jan 29th, 2010, 5:20pm Guy at work had a Citroen C5 - big executive type car. Headlight bulb died so he went to the main dealer as he couldn't work out how to change it. Sorry Sir, they said, bulb not replaceable - headlight is a sealed unit. £500 for a new one :o He paid up as there was no real choice...and a month later the other one failed...so he traded the car in sharpish before anything else went wrong. |

( "New bulb sir, that'll be £500 please" ) and thats just the bulb, what else is expensive to replace, ( "oh your fuse is blown that'll be £300.59 Please" ) 3 hours labour to remove the engine @ £100 ph and 59p for the fuse" ) |
