Title: Re: 24V Cossie with 4x4 in a Ford Puma Post by Scorpio_Mike on May 13th, 2010, 7:39pm Yep, that clutch looks well cream crackered. Clutch plate in my XR4i was judderring so took it out and found about a 3rd of the friction material had parted company with the plate - been standing a while so maybe that caused it ? Had one in my Mk2 Granada estate where the friction plate broke up and the springs fell out - still drove OK but made a hell of a racket ! Probably towing a large car trailer with a Jag on it the week before hadn't helped... |

Title: Re: 24V Cossie with 4x4 in a Ford Puma Post by Dave2302 on May 13th, 2010, 7:50pm Mike, yeah know what you mean with the towing lol, I towed a 3 tonne digger 650 miles from Kent to NW Scotland when I first moved up here. My Landrover Discovery was never the same after that epic PMSL. Since then it's had new pump, head and turbo, mind you it's running fine now ;) 5 Stud, I wasn't going to put any brakes back on it, they only slow you down :) :) :) Seriously, I do know what I'm doing lol, its got a complete Cosworth Scorpio Rear End in it and it will be having a mixture of 4x4 Granada front end wiv 24V Scorp Brakes. Considering the car only weighs 1000 kg it will stop on a tanner with them in ;) Regards Dave |
