Tomorrow. I have to go tot South Wales in the 24V Cossie Estate..remember this is NO clunker..27k on the clock..
I am filling the car to the brim in Leafy Bramhall and going to Cardiff and back...I shall keep to notional speed limits with the odd blip up to 85 mph.
What does the team think I shall achieve in the way of Fuel Consumption?
I'm going to guess 26mpg....and I might be being a tad optimistic there..

I'm reckoning you will get caught in a snow storm, try to stay with the car as long as possible keeping warm with the engine running before abandoning it and collecting it a week later..

2 mpg ;D

So, here's what happened.. I had to go to Bristol way then Cardiff via M6/M5/M4
Then back via M50/M5/M6
380 miles round trip, Car brim filled before and after
Heavy traffic on return trip M5/M6 huge traffic build up sat in it for 30 minutes
A500 M6 20 minutes standing traffic
Alderley Edge like wise
I drove like my Maiden Aunt..trying really hard to be economical but generally keeping to 75mph when possible.
The results are....wait for it....
27.4 to the gallon..Not that shabby to be honest..better than the 18 it does around town anyway!
