I'm impressed how clean everything looks. But then, I guess it would ;D

Also impressed............but I wouldn't go as far to say the same about the Black & Decker Workmate.  ;D

LOL, I have a CAD Bodyshop Jig Drawing which I've altered to show all the Rear beam mount dimensions and front suframe mount dimensions, so reproducing the shells will be easier.

Also works for Fiesta as its the same floorpan  :)

If I get a few wins with it I may build another and sell this one, or take commissions to build.........

Who knows  :)

Would be about £45,000 turn key car, MSA Logbooked, MOT'd and same spec as mine  :)

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Cheers Dave

Hi Guys,

Soz, only just seen the posts.

Car has to be road legal to do Stage Rallies, so yes some road fun will be had, (got no Scameras up here) LOL

I've been very busy over the last 6 weeks so not done much but will be back on it in earnest this next week or 2.

Picked up the custom made ally fuel tank yesterday, I have a set of braided hoses to go on it, all brake lines, extinguisher, bias valve, hydraulic handbrake, battery box and main cables, heater ducts, roll cage etc is all finished and fitted up inside.

Next up is install fuel tank, and pipe up the feed and return.
Then remove dash and install the wiring loom, adding extra wires where neccesary, (PATS and engine, electric brake boost, spot lamps, map light, extra gauges, navs footrest buttons for horn and wash wipe, intercom etc), and removing the unwanted wires, (like stereo wiring, tailgate lock, ABS etc)  ;)

I'm waiting on a pair of front hub seals to finish re building the n/s/f hub,

All in all, about 2 weeks work there, then once I've started it up and have no fault codes, I'll whip the engine and gearbox out and send the rolling shell up to Charlie for the final Paintwork.

While he's doing that, a quick check over of Engine and Gearbox.

Engine wise. ARP con rod bolts and possibly a set of shells and chain tensioners..............Engine was sweet when I removed it, but as it's done 85k and its gonna be thrashed round the Highland Forests, that is cheap Insurance..............

Same for the gearbox, it was sweet when removed from the Sierra, but bearings seals and synchros will do it no harm  ;)

When it comes back from paint, It'll be fitted up for the last time, with just a few extra jobs like flat carbon fibre door panels, ally checker plate floor covers, huge "Rally Regs" mudflaps, etc etc.

Will put up a link to the updates soon, but if you are interested, just check on "Skye Wheelnuts" website, "In The Shed Forum", the cage pics, extinguisher, brake pipes and battery install etc are on there now  ;)

Thanks for yr interest,

Regards Dave

Regards SVA,

MSA have agreed to gve it a "Cat 2 Stage Rally Logbook" folowing there inspection of it.

MOT Stations are have no problem testing it, and so with a change of Engine Capacity on the V5 hopefully SVA won't be neccesary.

Cheers Dave

Sounds like good news then ;)
I was paranoid my own project - converting a 2WD Sierra to 4WD - was going to land me with an SVA/IVA test and a Q plate - it had to have a DVLA built-up vehicle inspection but the chap recommended an age related plate - got the new log book through the post on Saturday  ;D

Fuel Tank is now installed, will be piping up the feed and return pipes to the engine over the weekend, then try and find some time next week to wire it all up  ;)

Cheers Dave
