Title: courtesy car
Post by pauldo on Aug 1st, 2011, 10:58pm
I got a Kia Ceed courtesy car from the RAC today  and dont know what to make of it. It is a diesel estate auto. The steering is far too light with that much torque steer that it skips about the road under acceleration and the road noise is deafening.are all modern cars this bad or have my expectations been raised too high by five years of Scorpio ownership

It's a Kia Ceed - what did you expect?  They are hardly the benchmark of modern car ownership!

Is that a courtesy car as a replacement for the Scorpio?  If so, I'd have held out for a BMW or Merc.  I got a BMW 535 when my Scorp was pranged.

I got a citreon picasso vtr+ and it seems to be very economical 360 miles on £40 of diesel.
Only problems I have found so far are the suspension is set too hard as it picks up every bump in the road. It also seems to sway a little as it is so tall and for some reason it doesn't like comming out of 5th gear which is not good for a car that has only done 4,500 miles.
