A.when its a number plate.a frend drives a disco with a asortment of tralers be hind .with just 1 noumber plate thats a bit baterd but still readable.got stoped last week by a plane cop car.youre nomber plates elegal ser thats £30.he whent to proses it on hes computer came back sorrey sir £30 is if you dont have one its £60 fore a elegel one sir.

That's very true 5 Stud,

In the "old days" (not that long ago), when we had the Sports Bikes, it was common practice to stick a bit of black tape on your plate, say to make a F look like a E, or an extra 1 then the scamera would be b****red !!

However, that gets you nicked for "perverting the course of justice", which can be a prison sentence  :o

But if you have it fixed on velcro, and pull it off and sit on it while going fast, all you get done is a 30 quid Fixed Penalty, but no points on licence  ;D ;D !!

Yes so obviously having an incorrect one is considered more naughty than none at all, reminds me about a bike mag article years ago "a day out with the traiffic cops" type of thing, even back then illegal number plates were like a red rag to a bull

However nowadays having any that can be quickly detachable with velcro is likely to make them think you're a burglar or drug dealer, according to recent motorway cops type TV programmes
